WRONG WINNER OF MISS UNIVERSE CROWNED

No one will forget the moment Miss Colombia was crowned the winner of Miss Universe 2015.
It was actually pretty awkward – because Miss Philippines was the winner.

Host Steve Harvey made a huge, embarrassing mistake when he accidentally announced the wrong victor for the competition.

Colombia’s Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo was already crying and waving to the audience at the ceremony in Las Vegas, decked out in the winner’s crown and sash.

But then Harvey gingerly approached the front of the stage, and said: ‘Folks, I have to apologise. The first runner up is Colombia.’

A confused (and very pleased) Miss Philippines – Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach – then made her way to the front to claim the sash and crown from Miss Colombia, who was rooted to her spot in shock.

The crown was then taken off Arevalo’s head and placed directly onto Wurtzbach’s.

As you can imagine, it was brutal.
