FORMER MINISTER CHARGES NEW MINISTERS TO SERVE NATIONAL INTEREST

Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has charged the new ministers to honor their appointments as opportunity to serve the country.

He gave the charge in an interview with news men in Abuja on Wednesday shortly after the inauguration of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fani-Kayode, called on Nigerians to support the ministers.

``Now that Presidential campaigns are over, I congratulate them and wish them well, they are Federal Ministers meant to be working for Nigerians now not just for the APC leaders’’, he said.

This, he said, was critical to enable them succeed in office, adding that the task of being a minister, was not an easy one.

``I was a minister almost ten years ago and I know what it is like. It is not easy, so they need our prayers and we will continue praying for them.

``We must support and pray for them as best as we can, let us hope that they step up to the heat and do a good job,’’ he stressed.

Fani-Kayode said that it was, however, the job of Nigerians to keep the new ministers on their toes to ensure that they did not fail in their responsibilities.

In his statement, Nigerians should not hesitate to call out, call to order and point out where they may have gone wrong at any point in time.
