TINUBU LISTS QUALITIES EVERY ARTISTE NEEDS TO SUCCEED …Says ‘AFRIMA has united Africa’

What does it take to become a star? That’s a question that will attract lots of answers from pundits, analysts and amateurs alike. However, only a man with a keen sense of history, experience and proven track record can be taken seriously when it comes to getting the answer right.

Of course, such a man must also have been seen to pay the cost to be the boss. In light of the foregone, it is evident that legendary politician, former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is one man that should be taken very seriously when the topic of discussion is the recipe for success.

In a recent chat with e247mag.com, the ‘Jagaban Borgu’ as he is fondly called told us some very important qualities an artiste needs to imbibe to qualify for success. In his words, “To become successful, an artiste must be consistent in every aspect of his or her career. You must also be determined, because you may not necessarily make it the first time you try; so you have to be dogged, and keep trying till you make it. Additionally, you should have a singleness of purpose, and don’t be easily discouraged because many people may try to discourage you and bring you down; you have to be focused regardless.”

Speaking on the just-concluded All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), Tinubu said, “It was a night of talents, culture and celebration of Africa. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and it shows that we all belong to the same humanity. We demonstrated to the rest of the world that culture, talent and artistry are unifiers; the unity of Africa was demonstrated. Entertainment, arts and culture have undoubtedly contributed to the increase of individual African country GDPs.”

Shedding light on the reason why he was instrumental to bringing the Broadway play, Fela! to Nigeria, he said, ‘I was excited when I saw Fela! On Broadway, but I was determined that it won’t be for me alone, and the rest of Africa must also enjoy it; and I’m glad that happened. I’m sure you believe the same thing I believe about the value of African renaissance. If we work hard together, we can restore Africa back to its glory. Africa will continue to be great and claim its pride of place in the world. May God bless Africa and all of you.”
